Amazon Announces 2017 SXSW Collection Now Streaming on Prime Video

Amazon today announced that over 30 official selections from the 2017 South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival are now available on Prime Video. The collection of films are made available through the Prime Video Direct (formerly Amazon Video Direct) Film Festival Stars (FFS) program that is designed to establish an attractive distribution model for films screened at film festivals that either don't secure theatrical distribution deals, or are looking for distribution options after a theatrical release.

The official selections from the 2017 South by Southwest Film Festival currently streaming on Prime Video include:

· Grand Jury winner for Narrative Feature, Most Beautiful Island

· Special Jury Recognition for Best Ensemble, A Bad Idea Gone Wrong

· Special Jury Recognition for Excellence in Documentary Storytelling, I Am Another You

· SXSW Audience Award for Narrative Feature Competition, The Light of the Moon

These films enjoyed robust distribution strategies throughout the year, including award-winning festival and theatrical runs, and are now available in the U.S. with select titles available in additional territories.

Prime Video Direct will return to the 2018 South by Southwest Film Festival with their FFS program. Looking for high quality independent film content for customers, FFS will offer up-front, non-recoupable cash bonuses plus an enhanced cost-per-hour royalty rate for U.S. and Canadian rights.

Prime Video Direct will be taking meetings from March 10 - March 12 at the InterContinental (701 Congress Ave) to discuss the FFS program. Interested rights holders should email PVD-festival@amazon.com to set up an appointment.

Prime members will be able to stream the films listed below exclusively via the Prime Video app for compatible TVs, connected devices including Fire TV, mobile devices, and online at www.amazon.com/primevideo.
