This season's exciting new cast of "Dancing with the Stars" will be revealed live, TODAY, SEPTEMBER 4 exclusively on "Good Morning America" (7:00-9:00 a.m., ET). The competition begins with twelve new celebrities who will brave the dance floor for their very first time. Each week these celebrities will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of grueling rehearsals to master technical choreography and entertaining performances. In the end, only one star will rise above the rest to be crowned champion and win the coveted mirror-ball trophy.
"Dancing with the Stars" returns for Season 17 and shakes things up by transitioning to a one night, two-hour format beginning MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). Combining the best elements of the show every Monday, "Dancing with the Stars" will continue to feature competitive dance, dynamic group performances and musical guests, all while climaxing to a dramatic elimination. Each week viewers vote for their favorite dancing performance. Each couple will be eliminated at the end of each episode by combining the judges' scores of that night, along with the public votes from the previous week, which will determine who gets eliminated every Monday night.
Hosted by Tom Bergeron ("America's Funniest Home Videos") and Brooke Burke-Charvet ("Dancing with the Stars" Season 7 Champion), "Dancing with the Stars" is the hit series in which celebrities perform choreographed dance routines which will be judged by renowned ballroom judge Len Goodman and dancer/choreographers Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.
"Good Morning America" is a two-hour, live program anchored by Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. Josh Elliott is the news anchor, Lara Spencer is lifestyle anchor and Sam Champion is the weather anchor. Tom Cibrowski is the senior executive producer. The morning news program airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (7:00-9:00 a.m., ET), on the
ABC Television Network.
