Alexis Bledel to Lead Fox's FRIENDS & FAMILY Comedy Pilot

Former GILMORE GIRL Alexis Bledel has officially signed on to co-star alongside Jason Ritter in Fox's upcoming pilot FRIENDS & FAMILY, it was announced today.

The single-camera comedy comes from David Rosen, Sony TV, BBC Wordwide Productions, and is an Americanized adaptation of the hit U.K. series GAVIN & STACEY. The series follows the two as they attempt to maintain their relationship - originally formed online - while navigating through life with their offbeat families.

Jane Tranter, Jule Gardner, and Henry Normal are set to executive produce along with James Corden and Ruth Jones, the original creators of GAVIN & STACEY.

Bledel is best known for her starring role on GILMORE GIRLS, which ran for seven seasons. She also recently wrapped a stint on AMC's MAD MEN, and has appeared in such films as SIN CITY, and SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING PANTS.

Ritter is the son of the late John Ritter, and has recently appeared in an arc on PARENTHOOD.
