Deadline.com reports that Alec Baldwin will join forces once again with 'To Rome With Love' director Woody Allen in the upcoming film MAN THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE. Baldwin will join his 'Rock of Ages' co-star Russell Brand in the film from New Line.

Baldwin made his Broadway debut in 1988, in a revival of Joe Orton's Loot alongside theater veterans Zoë Wanamaker, Željko Ivanek, Joseph Maher and Charles Keating. His other Broadway credits include Caryl Churchill's Serious Money with Kate Nelligan and a highly acclaimed revival of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire. His performance as Stanley Kowalski in the latter garnered him a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor.

Baldwin also received an Emmy nomination for the 1995 television version of the production, in which both he and Jessica Lange reprised their roles, alongside John Goodman and Diane Lane. In 1998, Baldwin played the title role in Macbeth at the Public theater alongside Angela Bassett and Liev Schreiber in a production directed by George C. Wolfe. In 2004, Baldwin starred in a revival of Twentieth Century with Anne Heche.

Woody Allen's new ensemble comedy will be shot in San Francisco and will reportedly co-star Cate Blanchett and Bradley Cooper. Arnold and Anne Kopelson will produce.

MAN THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE will follow the story of "an overworked husband and father who thinks he has found the solution to all his problems by importing a super-nanny he is told is a true kid whisperer. Turns out the live-in maid is a man."

The script for the project was penned by Josh Cagan and is based on a story by Cagan and Rob McKittrick. New Line is also behind the Adam Shankman-helmed 'Rock of Ages' in which Baldwin and Brand sing a duet as they portray two night club operators.
