Albert Lewitinn Joins CBSN as Executive Producer

CBS News announced today that Albert Lewitinn is joining CBSN, its 24/7 digital streaming news service, as executive producer overseeing CBSN's day-to-day live coverage. He begins his new role this week and will report into Mosheh Oinounou, executive producer for CBSN overseeing programming and content development.

Lewitinn brings extensive leadership experience in digital, broadcast, and cable news to CBSN. An Emmy Award and three-time Peabody Award winning producer and executive, he most recently ran the livestream of the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting for Yahoo! Finance. Prior to that, Lewitinn created and developed programming as executive producer for several shows and special reports at CNBC, and has also held executive and senior producer roles at CNN, HLN, ABC News, WCBS-TV and AOL/HomeFront. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from New York University.

CBSN continues to increase viewership, growing streams in the first half of 2016 by 90% compared to the second half of 2015 and by 301% compared to the first half of 2015. CBSN set new records in June for streams on connected TV and mobile platforms. Additionally, CBSN engagement levels remain high, with the average viewing session across platforms exceeding 40 minutes.

CBSN recently launched on Xbox 360, and is also available on Xbox One and connected TV devices including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Roku players and Roku TV models, as well as the CBS News apps for iOS, Android and Windows 8.1, and CBSNews.com on desktop and mobile devices.
