Alan Thicke Teams With 11 Television For New Game Show

11 TELEVISION is pleased to announce that it is collaborating with television legend Alan Thicke to develop an original game show format for Canadian and international distribution. The move brings together the prolific television host and actor with the Toronto and LA based prodco, headed by Executive Producers Kevin Healey, Chris Hilton and Jesse Fawcett.

“Creating original entertainment formats in Canada is at the core of our company’s strategy and we are honoured to be partnering with such an amazing talent,” explains 11 Television's Chief Creative Officer Kevin Healey. “Alan has an outstanding record as a producer, host and actor and we are excited to be working with him.”

Alan Thicke is a seven-time Emmy nominee often referred to as America’s Dad for his seven-year stint as patriarch Jason Seaver on GROWING PAINS. He began as a writer for TV working for names like Flip Wilson, Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Glen Campbell, Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John, and on Martin Mull’s FERNWOOD TONIGHT. He is also an accomplished composer, having created the themes for FACTS OF LIFE & DIFFERENT STROKES. In live theatre, Alan has appeared on Broadway as lawyer Billy Flynn in the musical, CHICAGO, PROMISES, PROMISES and MAME (Hollywood Bowl). Alan starred in JPOD, a comedy-drama series for the CBC Network and in I’M IN THE BAND (Disney), as well as in the feature THE GOODS: LIVE HARD, SELL HARD, with Will Farrell and Jeremy Piven and the upcoming THAT’S MY BOY (Adam Sandler). He also recurs on TVs popular HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and CW’s LA COMPLEX.

11 TELEVISION recently entered into a global partnership with ESSENTIAL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT in order to create the newly launched ESSENTIAL 11 MEDIA GROUP. With a mandate to create original formats across 3 key English-speaking markets, the Alan Thicke game show will be the first under the new arrangement.

To date 11 TELEVISION CANADA has created/produced a broad slate including:

• DESTINATION FEAR (13 x 30 mins), a comedy prank show, for Travel Channel US and Travel+Escape, where paranormal obsessed travelers experience frightening destinations in a whole new way.

• RISKY BUSINESS (13 x 30 mins), a competition investment show hosted by W. Brett Wilson, formerly of CBC’s Dragon’s Den, in which a pair of novice investors risk their savings in one of two unique investment opportunities.

• COVER ME CANADA (9 x 60 mins), an 11 Television original format in which bands compete for a record contract by covering Canada’s most popular songs.
