In an interview with Heat Radio, actor James McAvoy let it slip that Alan Cumming will reprise his role in the upcoming 'X-Men' sequel DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Listing the roster of stars set to appear in the film, McAvoy revealed, "It's huge, the cast is huge. You got me, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult will be back ... Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage I hear mentioned - I don't know if that's happening - 'Huge' Jackman is coming by, he's massive, 7'5? and muscly."

Cumming portrayed Nightcrawler on-screen in X2 and has also voiced the character in various video games and animated shows. Also scheduled to appear in the action adventure will be Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore.

The last installment of the franchise, X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, was set in 1962 when the United States government enlisted the help of Mutants with superhuman abilities to stop a malicious dictator who is determined to start world war III.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST will act as something of a sequel to 'First Class'. Days of Future Past is taken from two issues of Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men in 1981. The story was set in an alternate future in which surviving mutants were confined to concentration camps, while most of the X-Men had been killed. In order to stop this dismal future from unfolding, the X-Men had to stop a specific event from occurring in the past.

The film, from 20th Century Fox, is scheduled to begin production this April with a target release date of July 18, 2014.
