Al Pacino, the star of stage and screen who this year was nominated for a Tony for his work in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, is in talks to appear in the upcoming film "Imagine."
Variety reports that Pacino may star in the film, which centers around a man who decides to reconnect with his son after receiving a letter from John Lennon. Dan Fogelman ("Tangled") will make his directorial debut with "Imagine."

In addition to this year's nomination, Al Pacino previously won two Tony awards (for 1969's Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie? and 1977's The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel); he is most famed for playing mobsters including Michael Corleone in The Godfather trilogy and Tony Montana in Scarface, though he has also appeared several times on the other side of the law-as a police officer, detective and a lawyer. His role as Frank Slade in Scent of a Woman won him the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1992 after receiving seven previous Oscar nominations.
