Deadline reports that Agnes Bruckner has signed on to play the late Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith in a Lifetime original movie. The 'Private Practice' actress will star in THE ANNA NICOLE STORY, to be executive produced by Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Judith Verno.
John Rice and Joe Batteer have penned the script to the biopic which is based on the story of Smith, whose real name was Vicky Lynn Hogan. According to the report, Hogan was a "pretty but plain girl growing up in a small Texas town who transforms herself into Anna Nicole Smith – a voluptuous, Marilyn Monroe-esque Playboy pin-up and model. Determined to be noticed, for good or ill, Vicky gets her wish, but it comes at a steep price, both for her and her beloved son, Danny."
The project is from Sony Pictures TV and Zadan and Meron’s Storyline Entertainment. Bruckner will soon be seen on the big screen in the indie fillms A Bit of Bad Luck and Wrong Cops. She will also star opposite Billy Bob Thornton and Eva Longoria in The Baytown Outlaws.
