Adam McKay was in talks with Marvel to direct the upcoming Ant-Man movie. McKay would have replaced Edgar Wright who recently left the project due to artistic differences. Since Marvel wants to keep their July 2015 release date, they've been trying to replace Wright as quickly as possible. However, McKay suddenly backed out of the project.
McKay tweeted this afternoon: "And yes, met w/Marvel. Kirby & Lee r my Lennon Mccartney so it was awesome. But have other projects I'm committed to. Not sure it can work."
