Adam Levine Developing Semi-Autobiographical Comedy at NBC

Adam Levine is sticking with NBC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Voice judge and Maroon 5 frontman has sold a semi-autobiographical comedy to the network, which has been given a script order.

The comedy comes from Universal Television, and is loosely based on Levine's relationship with Gene Hong, best known for writing and producing NBC's COMMUNITY. The pair were former roommates, living together in Hollywood before each made it big.

THR reports that the duo will both executive produce, with Hong also taking up writing duties.

All four of Maroon 5's studio albums have reached platinum status in the US. Levine has received three Grammy Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards and an award each at the MTV Video Music Awards and the World Music Awards, all with the band.

Since 2011, Levine has served as a coach on NBC's reality talent show The Voice. The winner of the first season, Javier Colon, was on his team. In 2012, he made his acting debut as a recurring character in the horror television show American Horror Story: Asylum for the second season of the series. He was also cast in the upcoming film Can a Song Save Your Life?
