The Primetime Emmy Award season has begun and actress Ren Hanami has earned consideration for 'Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series' for her appearance in the CBS drama CRIMINAL MINDS.

CRIMINAL MINDS follows an elite group of profilers as they analyze the nation's most dangerous CRIMINAL MINDS in an effort to anticipate their next moves before they strike again. In the episode "Alpha Male," a series of acid attacks draws the BAU to Philadelphia. Local Burn Specialist, Dr. Marion Rillo (Hanami) briefs the team on the severity of the victims' injuries and offers her insight on the perpetrator's motive.

The Primetime Emmy Awards recognize excellence within various areas of television and emerging media. It's a symbol of peer recognition from over 20,000 Television Academy members with each member casting a ballot for the category of competition in their field of expertise. Voting is scheduled to begin June 12, 2017.

Later this month, Hanami flexes her funny side appearing in the all-new Season Three of the fan-favorite comedy, Angie Tribeca. The series follows Rashida Jones as a lone-wolf Los Angeles detective investigating the most serious cases, from the murder of a ventriloquist to a rash of baker suicides. The storyline is still under wraps, but Hanami will appear as 'Fluga' alongside Jones and guest-star Ernie Hudson of Ghostbusters fame.

Most recently, Hanami emerged at the Sundance Film Festival in Marianna Palka's new bleak comedy Bitch, starring Jaime King and Jason Ritter. She has also been gaining fans for her recurring role as 'Lynn' in the critically acclaimed HBO series Silicon Valley. Her previous television credits also include Pretty Little Liars, Grey's Anatomy, Parenthood, Southland, and THE BIG BANG THEORY among others.

Behind the camera, Hanami has been writing and developing several original projects. Currently on the festival circuit, Hanami has been earning high PRAISE for her sexual assault teen drama short film Like Last Night. The Story First Film Festival recently declared: "This is a heartfelt short about a difficult topic, and is sensitively acted by the cast of three, including a strong performance by Director Hanami as Caroline's mother." Hanami has also been in development on the feature film, Ninja Mom; and the teen focused spin-off television series pilot, Fashionista Ninja.

A Huntington Beach, CA native, Hanami was predominantly influenced by her Hawaiian/Japanese Mother. Proud of her heritage, she currently sits as the National Chairman of the SAG-AFTRA Asian Pacific American Media Committee, which offers moral support and a forum where diverse voices can be heard.

Ren Hanami is represented by The David Moss Agency and McGuffin Management.
