According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Collins has been fired from the ABC drama SCANDAL following a recent revelation that he had committed child molestation. The news comes just one day after it was revealed that the actor had been dropped from the upcoming film, Ted 2.

The actor, best known for his role on TV's '7th Heaven,' first appeared on the ABC drama in a 2012 episode entitled "Happy Birthday, Mr. President," in which he portrayed news anchor Reed Wallace. He was set to reprise the role in the fourth season of the show.

On Tuesday night, Tarzana police raided Collins' California home after receiving a false report that the actor had committed suicide. Earlier in the day audio was posted online that alledgedly revealed he had admitted to molesting underage girls. The tape was recorded secretly by Collins' estranged wife during a 2012 therapy session. Following the leak, Collins left his post on the board of SAG-AFTRA.
