According to Billboard.com, American Idol alums and 'Hair' stars Diana Degarmo and Ace Young exchanged vows on Saturday, June 1st at an afternoon ceremony held at Los Angeles' Luxe Sunset Boulevard hotel.
Fred Bronson, who officiated at the event, read lyrics from the John Lennon song "Grow Old with Me." "It was solemn in places, funny in others," he revealed. "Lots of tears; lots of laughs. It was an uplifting, celebratory vibe throughout."
Included in the guest list of 230 were fellow Idol contestants Elliott Yamin, Kevin Covais and Michael Johns as well as asociate musical director Michael Orland, FOX executive Wenda Fong and DeGarmo's "The Young and the Restless" costars Christian LeBlanc and Tracey Bregman.
The couple composed their own vows and chose Led Zeppelin's "All My Love" as their recessional music and a song they recorded, "Here and Now" for their first dance. Young and his mother Kay joined others on the dance floor to the Beatles' "In My Life."
Ace Young made his Broadway debut in GREASE in the role of "Kenickie." An "American Idol" finalist in Season 5 and a Grammy nominated songwriter, Ace has guest-starred on Fox's "Bones," co-hosted "American Idol Extra" and co-produced his debut album,Ace Young.
Actress and American Idol runner-up Diana DeGarmo made her Broadway debut in a four-month run in Hairspray as nerdy character Penny Pingleton in February 2006. She played the role of Sarah, the sexy, blind librarian and love interest of Toxie in the Off Broadway musical, The Toxic Avenger, and went on to star as Sheila in the Broadway company of Hair and Doralee Rhodes in the national tour of 9 to 5.
