ARGO's been milling about the domestic box office for three weeks now - but this weekend, the Ben Affleck directed film outdid the competition, including the star-studded, Wachowski helmed CLOUD ATLAS.

Taking in approximately $60.8 million after three weeks, ARGO, the Warner Bros. film, directed by and starring Ben Affleck, and inspired by the rescue of six United States embassy workers in the midst of the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, brought in almost $12.4 million.

CLOUD ATLAS, the extensive epic also distributed by Warner Bros., which bolsters an all-star cast including Tom Hanks and Halle Berry, and directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski, pulled in an underwhelming $9.4 million, coming in third place.

In second place was HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA which managed a solid $9.5 million after a month in theaters. It has grossed $130.4 million since its release.

PARANORMAL ACTIVITY grossed $8.7 million, locking it into fourth place, while SILENT HILL: REVELATION 3-D brought up the rear with $8 million at number five.
