AMERICA'S GOT TALENT & WORLD OF DANCE Are The Weeks #1 and #2 Entertainment Shows In 18-49  Image

NBC has finished #2 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key ratings measures for the primetime week of May 28-June 3, and ranks #1 in each of those categories excluding sports, according to "live plus same day" figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Tuesday season premieres of "America's Got Talent" and "World of Dance" rank #1 and #2 for the week among all Big 4 primetime entertainment programs in adults 18-49, with Wednesday's "American Ninja Warrior" premiere tied for #4, Thursday's "Talent" encore" tied for #8 and Sunday's "Jurassic World" tied for #10.

Excluding sports, "Talent" ranked #1 for the week among primetime shows on ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in every key ratings measure - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; adults, men and women 25-54; and total viewers.

Season to date, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in every key demographic - adults, men and women 18-34; adults, men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54.

Counting entertainment programming only, NBC ranks #1 or tied for #1 for the season in adults, men and women 18-49; adults and women 25-54; and men 18-34.

Weekly ratings are "live plus same day" figures from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date ratings are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

NBC highlights for the week of May 28-June 3:

Monday

NBC Sports' 8-11:12 p.m. ET coverage of Stanley Cup Final hockey, featuring the Washington Capitals at the Vegas Golden Knights (1.7/7 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) won the night among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos. With a total audience delivery (TAD) of 5.279 million viewers, this was the most-watchedGame 1 in three years and the third-best since NBC Sports began broadcasting the Stanley Cup Final in 2006 (behind only 2015, 5.586 for Blackhawks-Lightning, and 2013, 6.315 million for Bruins-Blackhawks). The game also set local ratings records in Las Vegas and Washington, D.C. (with the D.C. mark being eclipsed on Monday of the current week).

Tuesday

NBC won Tuesday night across all networks in every key ratings measure, beating the Big 4 competition combined in 18-49 and total viewers.

The 13th season debut of "America's Got Talent" (2.5/11 in 18-49, 12.2 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 show of the night in every key measure, winning the timeslot over the combined Big 4 competition in adults 18-49 and total viewers and more than tripling the #2 network in the slot (0.7 for Fox's reality premieres). "Talent" retained 93% of its year-ago premiere in 18-49 (2.5 vs. 2.7, the show's top debut since 2014) and 99% in total viewers (12.2 million vs. 12.3 million, the show's best debut since 2011), making this the second most-watched "Talent" premiere in seven years. L+3: "Talent" increased by +24% in 18-49 (2.49 to 3.10) and +2.4 million viewers overall (12.2 million to 14.6 million) going from L+SD to L+3, for the biggest L+3 lift of the night in 18-49 rating and total viewers. L+7: Last summer, the Tuesday "Talent" grew by +33% in 18-49 rating (from a 2.63 to a 3.50) and +3.1 million viewers overall (12.9 million to 16.0 million) going from L+SD to L+7.

The season-two premiere of "World of Dance" (1.7/8 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) generated NBC's best 18-49 rating in the timeslot, excluding Olympics and "Voice" finales, since premiere week last fall (1.7 on Sept. 26, 2017). "World" dominated the time period in every key measure, beating the combined ABC-CBS competition in all key categories, while equaling or besting four of the final five "World: telecasts from last summer in 18-49 (trailing over that span only the show's Aug. 8 finale). L+3: "World" grew by +26% in 18-49 (1.74 to 2.20) and +1.8 million viewers overall (7.0 million to 8.8 million) going from L+SD to L+3, ro the biggest L+3 lift of the night on the Big 4 in 18-49 percentage. L+7: Last summer, "World of Dance" increased by +41% in 18-49 rating going from L+SD to L+7 (from a 1.84 to a 2.59) and +2.4 million viewers overall (7.7 million to 10.1 million).

Wednesday

"American Ninja Warrior" (1.2/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) tied as the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and won the two-hour 8-10 p.m. timeslot among those nets in every key ratings measure. "Ninja" maintained 99% of last summer's regular-slot premiere in total viewers (5.375 million vs. 5.437 million viewers on, June 12, 2017). L+3: "Ninja" increased by +16% in 18-49 going from L+SD to L+7 (1.20 to 1.39) and +573,000 viewers overall (5.4 million to 5.9 million). L+7: Last summer, "American Ninja Warrior" grew by +21% going from L+SD to L+7 in 18-49 rating (from a 1.44 to a 1.74) and +943,000 viewers overall (5.9 million to 6.8 million).Upscale: Last summer, "Ninja" delivered a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 114 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes).

The premiere of "Reverie" (0.6/3 in 18-49, 2.9 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) grew +14% versus NBC's timeslot average last summer in total viewers (2.9 million vs. 2.5 million, L+SD excluding sports) and maintained 100% in 18-49 (0.6 vs. 0.6). "Reverie" tied for #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the timeslot in men 18-34 and ranked #2 or tied for #2 in all other key ratings measures. L+3: "Reverie" grew by +36% in 18-49 (0.58 to 0.79) and +1.0 million viewers overall (2.9 million to 3.9 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens

Thursday

NBC was Thursday's top-rated alternative among the Big 4 networks to ABC's NBA-boosted first-place lineup in adults 18-49.

An encore telecast of "America's Got Talent" (1.0/4 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) ranked #2 among the Big 4 networks in the two-hour time-slot in 18-49 and #1 excluding NBA-boosted ABC. and grew +38% from its first half-hour to its fourth in 18-49 (0.8 to 1.1).

A rebroadcast of "World of Dance" (0.7/3 in 18-49, 3.2 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the hour in adults 18-49, behind only ABC's NBA FINALS coverage, and maintained100% of its rating from half-hour to half-hour in adults 18-49 (0.7 vs. 0.7), despite the 10 p.m. hour.

Friday

An encore telecast of "American Ninja Warrior" (0.6/3 in 18-49, 2.6 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in the two-hour time-slot in adults 18-49 and ranked #1 outright among those nets for its second hour from 9-10 p.m. From its first half-hour to its fourth, the "Ninja" encore grew +75% in 18-49 (from a 0.4 rating to a 0.7).

"Dateline NBC" (0.5/2 in 18-49, 0.7 in adults 25-54, 2.7 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET) tied for #2 for the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49. L+3: The prior Friday's "Dateline" increased by +29% in 18-49 (0.78 to 1.01) and +1.1 million viewers overall (4.6 million to 5.7 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens. Upscale: Friday's "Dateline" is delivering a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 113 among adults 18-49 in $100K+ homes

Saturday

NBC tied for the nightlong win among the Big 4 networks in 18-49 and led those nets outright in total viewers.

"Taken" (0.2/1 in 18-49, 2.1 million viewers overall from 8-9 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the timeslot among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49. Week to week, "Taken" maintained 100% in 18-49 (0.2 vs. 0.2) and grew +18% in total viewers (2.1 million vs. 1.8 million). L+3: The previous week's "Taken" grew by +81% in 18-49 (0.21 to 0.38) and +1.0 million viewers overall (1.8 million to 2.8 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens, for the biggest L+3 lifts of the night in 18-49 rating and percentage, as well as total viewers.

"Dateline Saturday Night Mystery" (0.5/3 in 18-49, 0.8 in 25-54, 3.4 million viewers overall from 9-11 p.m. ET) ranked as the #1 Big 4 primetime telecast of the night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and total viewers. Week to week, "Dateline Mystery" grew +0.1 of a point or +25% in 18-49 (0.5 vs. 0.4), +33% in 25-54 (0.8 vs. 0.6) and +18% in total viewers (3.4 million vs. 2.9 million). From its first half-hour to its fourth, the June 2 edition grew +75% in adults 18-49 (0.4 to 0.7), by +50% in adults 25-54 (0.6 to 0.9) and by +1.4 million persons or +50% in total viewers (2.7 million to 4.0 million). L+3: The previous week's "Dateline Mystery" grew by +19% in 18-49 (0.43 to 0.51) and +376,000 viewers overall (2.9 million to 3.3 million) going from L+SD to L+3 Nielsens.

Sunday

NBC was Sunday's top-rated alternative among the Big 4 networks to ABC's NBA-boosted first-place lineup in adults 18-49.

"Dateline NBC" (0.5/3 in 18-49, 0.9 in 25-54, 3.8 million viewers overall from 7-8 p.m. ET) tied for #1 in the hour among the Big 4 networks in women 25-54 and ranked #2 in total viewers behind only ABC's NBA-related programming. "Dateline" grew from its first half-hour to its second in every key measure.Upscale: Sunday's "Dateline" is indexing at a 121 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (with 100 representing an average concentration of those homes).

The 2015 feature film "Jurassic World" (0.9/4 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall from 8-11 p.m. ET) is the #1 broadcast theatrical movie of 2018 to date in 18-49. In its three-hour 8-11 p.m. timeslot, "Jurassic World" ranked #2 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 and was the #1 alternative to ABC's coverage of the NBA Finals. "Jurassic World" grew +83% from its first half-hour to its sixth in adult 18-49 rating (0.6 to 1.1) and +1.3 million persons or +39% in total viewers (3.3 million to 4.6 million).
