According to Deadline, SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK and AMERICAN PSYCHO's writer Robert Aguirre-Sacasa will soon be bringing a bit of horror to NBC.

The network has enlisted Aguirre-Sacasa and super-hero series savant Greg Berlanti (THE FLASH, ARROW, SUPERGIRL) to bring the project, a modern retelling of the brides of Dracula, to life. The"gothic soap drama" has received a put pilot commitment.

Per the report, the project is "a sexy reimagining of Dracula as a family drama with a trio of strong, diverse female leads, a show about empowered women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy - and their non-traditional family."

Aguirre-Sacasa is the author of the radio play DOCTOR CERBERUS, and has also worked on Fox's hit musical dramedy GLEE. Aguirre-Sacasa has, until recently, been an author for Marvel Comics. A graduate of Yale, he has seen his plays premiered at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company in Washington D.C., the Manhattan Theatre Club, and Steppenwolf in Chicago. DOCTOR CERBERUS premiered with an L.A. Theatre Works taping and broadcast.
