AMERICAN IDOL's Matt Rogers to Host USA's New Reality Series SUMMER CAMP

USA announced today that Matt Rogers, a former "American Idol" finalist and seasoned on-air talent, will be the host of the network's new competition reality series, SUMMER CAMP. The eight episode one-hour series will premiere on Thursday, July 11 at 8/7c on USA.

"A reality TV veteran, Matt brings a relatiblity and an energy that is a perfect fit for this fun-filled summer competition series," said Heather Olander, senior Vice president, alternative programming for USA Network. "As a former camper himself, we are excited to see Matt relive the experience all over again alongside this incredible group of characters."

From Emmy(R)-Award winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan ("Big Brother") and Fly on the Wall Entertainment and distributed by Sony Pictures Television, this escapist series sends die-hard campers back to the most cherished place of their youth for the thrill of a lifetime. In SUMMER CAMP, viewers will meet an eclectic group of 16 adults from all walks of life - from the fanatic hunter to the former nerd-turned-supermodel to the vegan yoga instructor. Campers will pack their bags and head to an idyllic lakeside retreat in Big Bear, California, where they will indulge in over-the-top competitions inspired by classic camp games. At the end of the summer, the remaining competitors Face Off in the "Campathalon," an ultimate Olympic style event.

An accomplished television talent, Rogers was the former host of GSN's "Beat the Chefs," Discovery Channel's "Really Big Things," CBS's "There Goes the Neighborhood"and Lifetime's "Coming Home," for which he also wrote and performed the theme song titled "I'm Coming Home." Rogers continues his music career performing as "Rogers & Bos." He received a B.A in Business Communications from the University of Washington, where he played college football as an offensive lineman for their 2001 Rose Bowl championship teaM.
