Although Fox's AMERICAN IDOL dropped 7 percent in the ratings last night, the two-hour episode remained Wednesday's top show, earning a 5.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 17.9 million viewers.
The CBS network followed in second place, bringing in a 2.8 average among adults 18-49 and 11.1 million viewers even though its hit reality series Survivor dropped 9 percent to a 2.9 among 18-49-ers and its drama series Criminal Minds hit a season low with a 2.8.
ABC also saw season lows last night as it aired mostly repeats of its comedy series, giving the network a 2.2 among adults, 18-49 for the night and 6.4 million viewers. The Middle dropped 19 percent to a 2.1 among adults. Happy Endings, on the other hand, saw a 20 percent increase in ratings with a 2.4 among 18-49 adults. ABC News' Revenge for Real earned a 1.2.
Other than a popular repeat broadcast of Law & Order: SVU, the NBC network also saw series lows. Whitney dropped 13 percent to a 1.4 among 18-49 adults, while Are You There, Chelsea? dropped 33 percent for a 1.0 in the same demo. Rock Center With BrIan Williams dropped 40 percent for a 0.6. NBC earned a 0.8 demo rating and 2.9 million viewers just edging out The CW.
