With week-over-week increases in time-shifted viewing nearly doubling (Live+3), the second episode of American Horror Story: Coven, "Boy Parts" (10/16/13), posted a spectacular performance and set a record for the highest delivery of Adults 18-34 of any program in FX's history. Week 2 of Coven, featuring Broadway vet Patti Lupone, delivered 2.95 million Adults 18-34 topping its debut episode 2.92 million (Live+3) in the demo, and all FX telecasts inclusive of Live+7.
The second episode of Coven pulled ahead of its premiere episode in audience delivery in many major demos, erasing what previously were double-digit percentage declines on a Live+Same Day measurement. Furthermore, when Live+7 data becomes available, ratings for the second episode of American Horror Story: Coven will likely surpass those of the premiere episode across the board, which would mark the first time that has happened in the three years of the
American Horror Story franchise.
Inclusive of Live+ 3 data, episode 2 of American Horror Story: Coven delivered 7.12 million Total Viewers and 4.98 million Adults 18-49, just -2% off from the premiere episode. Coven is averaging 7.2 million Total Viewers, 5.03 million Adults 18-49, and 2.93 million Adults 18-34, which are respective gains of +49% in Total Viewers, +41% in Adults 18-49 and +33% in Adults 18-34 of American Horror Story: Asylum (Live+3 to Live+3 comparison). Coven's gains over American Horror Story: Murder House are significantly higher with increases of +89% in Total Viewers, +90% in Adults 18-49, and +97% in Adults 18-34.
The Week 2 Live+3 percentage lifts for Coven over its debut week rose to +58% from +31% in Total Viewers, +59% from +31% in Adults 18-49, and +50% from +24% in Adults 18-34.
