A&E has pulled the plug on its reality staple DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER after eight seasons and nearly 250 episodes. The cancellation, first reported by TMZ.com, follows last week's decision by the network to pull the series from its Wednesday lineup.

The show's remaining episodes will air Saturday nights at 9:00/8:00c beginning June 2.

To date this year, "Dog" has averaged 1.969 million viewers and a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 with its most recent installment on May 9 delivering a season low 1.074 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in said demo.

In DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER, the world's most famous bounty hunter, Duane "Dog" Chapman, stars in this action-packed, high-stakes hunts from Hawaii to Colorado, tracking down fugitives along side his wife Beth and fearless family-based posse.
