New film distribution company, ABMO Films, has today announced their arrival into the Canadian market with the acquisition of highly anticipated horror title FEBRUARY. Headed-up by Alex Bronfman and Matt Orenstein, ABMO specializes in bringing mid-sized independent films to Canadian audiences.

ABMO's first release will be "February,"directed byOsgood Perkins, son of "Psycho" actor Anthony Perkins, from his own script. The elevated horror film stars Emma Roberts, Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Boynton. "February" premiered on Sept. 12 at theToronto International Film Festival.

Producers on the film are Unbroken Pictures' Adrienne Biddle and Bryan Bertino along with Rob Paris' Paris Film Inc., Zed Filmworks' Rob Menzies and Alphonse Ghossein of Go Insane Films. The story is set at a girls' prep school, where two students find themselves stranded after their parents mysteriously fail to retrieve them for winter break.

"Our goal is to connect Canadian audiences to provocative, strikingly crafted, and elevated independent films that may otherwise not find the right home on this side of the border," said Bronfman and Orenstein, co-founders of ABMO. "We are looking forward to bringing the work of great filmmakers into the Canadian marketplace and couldn't be more excited to be launching this new company in Toronto."

Prior to founding ABMO, both Bronfman and Orenstein worked with major players in the Canadian film industry including, Entertainment One, William F. White International, Phase 4 Films, and Temple Street Productions.

UTA Independent Film Group and CAA brokered the deal. Highland Film Group is handling international sales.

"We are thrilled to be distributing "February" as the first title under the ABMO banner," continued Bronfman and Orenstein. "Osgood Perkins has directed a haunting, visionary film that is sure to resonate with both audiences and critics."

A24 and DIRECTV acquired the U.S. rights to the film, which will hit theatres in 2016.
