Building its Total Viewer count week to week (+2% - 8.34 million on w/o 11/5/12), "World News" attracted its 2nd-strongest overall audience of the season, behind only the week of coverage of Hurricane Sandy.
For the 4th week in a row, "World News" improved on its year-earlier performance in Total Viewers (+6% - 8.01 million on w/o 11/14/12), growing the most in overall viewers compared to NBC's "Nightly News" (+1%) and CBS' "Evening News" (flat).
"World News" decreased its margins with "NBC Nightly News" from the previous week among both Total Viewers (-6% - 719,000 vs. 764,000) and Adults 25-54 (-2% - 372,000 vs. 380,000).
"World News" slashed its Total Viewer gap with "Nightly News" from the year-ago week by 38% (719,000 vs. 1.06 million), cutting the year-to-year margin for the 7th time in 8 weeks this season.
Season to date, "World News" is up in Total Viewers (+2%) compared to the same point last season, drawing its most-watched season in 3 years – since 2009-10. In addition, "World News" has narrowed its Total Viewer gap (-22%) with "NBC Nightly News" by double digits for the second year in a row to post its smallest gap (611,000) with the NBC program in 4 years– since the 2008-09 season.
"World News" scored its largest advantages of the season over the "CBS Evening News" in both Total Viewers (+1.74 million) and Adults 25-54 (+285,000).
