ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked as Sunday's No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (1.006 million) on August 9, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Taking the top spot in Adults 25-54 for the 11th consecutive Sunday, "This Week" is currently on its longest run at No. 1 in 24 years - since at least September 1991, the start of Nielsen's electronic database.
In Adults 25-54, "This Week" beat NBC's "Meet the Press" (869,000) by 137,000 and CBS' "Face the Nation" (820,000) by 186,000.
"This Week" delivered double-digit, week-to-week increases (2.753 million and 848,000, respectively, for w/o 8/2/15) in both Total Viewer (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+19%). In fact, "This Week" drew its largest overall audience in over 5 months and best news demo performance in nearly 3 months - since 3/1/15 and 5/17/15, respectively.
"This Week" also scored double-digits gains on the same Sunday last year (2.444 million and 719,000, respectively, on 8/10/14) in both Total Viewers (+28%) and Adults 25-54 (+40%). "This Week" has posted year-to-year increases for the past 4 weeks and in 8 of the last 9 in both measures.
Season to date, "This Week" ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (875,000), taking the top spot for the first time at this point of the season in 21 years - since the 1993-94 season. "This Week" leads CBS' "Face the Nation" (866,000) by 9,000 Adults 25-54 and NBC's "Meet the Press" (806,000) by 69,000 Adults 25-54.
"This Week" is up in Adults 25-54 (+6% - 875,000 vs. 825,000) versus its year-ago season average. Growing its Adults 25-54 performance for the 2nd year in a row, "This Week" is delivering its strongest news demo performance in 6 years - since the 2008-09 season. In fact, "This Week" is up the most in Adults 25-54, compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (-2%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (+1%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (flat).
In addition, "This Week" is outdelivering NBC's "Meet the Press" in Total Viewers (+22,000) and Adults 25-54 (+69,000) for the 2nd-straight year, seeing its largest news demo lead in 22 years - since the 1992-93 season.
