ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (873,000) on September 6, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Leading for the 2nd consecutive Sunday, "This Week" outdelivered CBS' "Face the Nation" (619,000) by 254,000 and NBC's "Meet the Press" (737,000) by 136,000 to stand as Sunday's top public affairs program in the key adult news demo in 13 of the last 15 weeks.
For the 3rd straight week, "This Week" turned in double-digit, year-to-year increases (2.316 million and 671,000, respectively, on 9/7/14) in both Total Viewers (+22%) and Adults 25-54 (+30%). "This Week" has delivered year-to-year growth in 6 of the last 7 weeks in both measures. In addition, "This Week" was up the most in both demos compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (+6%/-20%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-3%/-10%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+2%/+18%).
Season to date, "This Week" ranks as the No. 1 public affairs program in Adults 25-54 (877,000), taking the top spot for the first time at this point of the season in 21 years - since the 1993-94 season. "This Week" leads CBS' "Face the Nation" (856,000) by 21,000 and NBC's "Meet the Press" (813,000) by 64,000.
"This Week" is up in Adults 25-54 (+6% - 877,000 vs. 827,000) versus its year-ago season average. Growing its Adults 25-54 performance for the 3rd year in a row, "This Week" is delivering its strongest news demo performance in 6 years - since the 2008-09 season. In fact, "This Week" is up the most in Adults 25-54, compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (-2%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (+2%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+1%).
In addition, "This Week" is outdelivering NBC's "Meet the Press" in Adults 25-54 (+64,000) for the 2nd-straight year, seeing its largest news demo lead in 21 years - since the 1993-94 season.
