With "The Bachelorette" from 8:00-10:00 p.m. leading into night 1 of 2016 DNC coverage, ABC finished No. 1 on Monday for the 2nd week in a row with Total Viewers (5.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.6/6). The Net also won Monday for the 7th time in the last 8 weeks across all key Women demos. ABC earned non-sports Monday night summer highs in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (tie).

ABC's "The Bachelorette" outdelivered NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" head to head to lead the night, ranking as Monday's most watched TV show overall (6.6 million) and the night's No. 1 TV series in Adults 18-49 for its 8th straight first-run airing (1.9/7).

"The Bachelorette" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 6.6 million and 1.9/7 in AD18-49): Winning each half-hour from 8:00-10:00 p.m., "The Bachelorette" beat NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" in the 2-hour time period by double digits among Total Viewers (+14% - 6.6 million vs. 5.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+19% - 1.9/7 vs. 1.6/6). "The Bachelorette" held even week to week in viewers and young adults.

"2016 Democratic Convention-MON" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 4.2 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): Night 1 of ABC News' 2016 Democratic Convention coverage ranked No. 1 in the 10:00 p.m. hour, topping NBC News' convention coverage by 11% in Total Viewers (4.2 million vs. 3.8 million) and tying it among Adults 18-49 (1.0/3). In addition, ABC (4.2 million, 1.0/3 and 1.2/3) bested CBS News' convention coverage in the slot (2.6 million, 0.5/2 and 0.7/2) by wide margins in Total Viewers (+62%), Adults 18-49 (+100%) and Adults 25-54 (+71%), respectively. The program delivered ABC's biggest non-sports audience in the hour this summer. Editors Please Note: DNC Coverage aired live and ran long, so the preliminary Fast Affiliate numbers are subject to greater adjustments in the national ratings this afternoon.

Projections Rationale: Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2015-16 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere).
Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).
New Series: Based on similar series.

A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
