ABC took second place on Monday in Total Viewers (5.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.5/5-tie), while winning the night among Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). ABC's The Bachelorette was Monday's No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-34 and all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54).
ABC was up week to week in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 to deliver 5-week highs - since 6/2/14.
"The Bachelorette" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 6.8 million and 1.8/6 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., "The Bachelorette" finished No. 1 in its 2-hour time period among Total Viewers (6.8 million), Adults 18-49 (1.8/6), Adults 18-34 and all key Women, making
ABC the most-watched network in the slot for its 6th straight telecast.
"The Bachelorette" built for the 2nd consecutive week in Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+13%), marking its most-watched telecast since its season premiere 7 weeks ago - since 5/19/14. In addition, the show equaled a best-since-premiere rating in Adults 18-49.
"The Bachelorette" was the No. 1 most-social broadcast series (89,919 tweets) on Monday night for the 4th straight week.
"Mistresses" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.7 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "Mistresses" beat CBS' "Under the Dome" for the first time ever among Women 18-34 (+9% - 1.2/4 vs. 1.1/4).
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 47% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
