ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' Up Week to Week by 20% in Adults 18-34 and Teens 12-17

For the 3rd week in a row, ABC was Monday's No. 1 TV network in Total Viewers (9.3 million) while taking second in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5). "Dancing" was Monday's most watched television show overall and ranked No. 2 series for the night to NBC's "The Voice" in Adults 18-49. Among Adults 18-49, the ABC unscripted series topped original competition on the night from NBC's "Blindspot" (1.3/4), CBS' "Supergirl" finale (1.3/4), "Scorpion" (1.5/5) and "NCIS: LA" (1.1/4), as well as Fox's "Gotham" (1.2/4) and "Lucifer" (1.3/4).

"Dancing with the Stars" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 11.0 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:01 p.m., ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" was Monday's most watched TV series for the 5th week in a row, outdrawing NBC's "The Voice" by nearly 1.0 million viewers (11.0 million vs. 10.1 million). In addition, "Dancing" took second in the 2-hour slot with Adults 18-49 (1.6/5), leading original dramas on CBS by 14% (1.4/5 - "Supergirl" finale / "Scorpion") and FOX by 33% (1.2/4 - "Gotham"/ "Lucifer").

"Castle" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 5.9 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):
During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "Castle" outdrew NBC's "Blindspot" for its 4th straight original among Total Viewers (+7% - 5.9 million vs. 5.5 million).

• Live + 3 Day Ratings for Last Monday (4/11/16): "Castle" delivered a 1.8 rating in Adults 18-49 after 3 days of TV playback (up +64% from a 1.1 in L+SD), growing over the prior week by 6% to match its top L+3 rating of 2016.

Tuesday
"The Real O'Neals" (8:30-9:00 p.m. - 3.0 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):
Coming out of a repeat "Fresh Off the Boat" at 8:30 p.m., ABC's "The Real O'Neals" outdrew Fox's "New Girl" head-to-head in the half-hour by 1.2 million viewers (3.0 million vs. 1.8 million) and matched the newly renewed FOX comedy in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3). In fact the ABC freshman comedy drew more viewers than all 3 of Fox's comedies on the night, including 1.0 million more than the finale of "Brooklyn 9-9" (2.0 million at 9:00 p.m.).

"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 2.8 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
Growing from its lead-in at 9:00 p.m. (+13%), ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." held steady in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 1.0/3) and was up week to week in Adults 18-34 (+20%), Men 18-34 (+20%) and Teens 12-17 (+20%).

Most Recent L+7 ratings (for Tuesday, 3/29/16): In the most recent Live + 7 Day data released this past Monday, "S.H.I.E.L.D." nearly doubled its L+SD Adult 18-49 number, soaring +90% to a 1.9 rating in L+7 (from a 1.0 in L+SD).

Thursday
ABC ran a strong second on Thursday in Live + Same Day Adults 18-49 (1.5/5) to a "Big Bang"-led CBS (1.7/6), beating original programming on NBC by 67% (0.9/3) and FOX by 88% (0.8/3). The Net won Thursday in L+3 Adults 18-49 (2.4 rating) for the 10th time in the last 11 weeks. ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" was Thursday's No. 2 TV show in Adults 18-49, behind only CBS' "The Big Bang Theory." In addition, "Grey's" and "Scandal" were Thursday's Top 2 dramas, and "The Catch" finished well ahead of NBC's "Game of Silence" in the 10:00 p.m. hour.

"Grey's Anatomy" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 7.7 million and 2.0/8 in AD18-49):
From 8:00-9:00 p.m., ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" towered over its drama competition among Adults 18-49 (2.0/8), more than doubling Fox's "Bones" (+150% - 0.8/3). "Grey's" moved into the No. 1 position at 8:30 p.m. and beat CBS' "Big Bang"-fueled "The Odd Couple" by 18% (2.0/7 vs.1.7/6).

"Scandal" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 6.0 million and 1.5/5 in AD18-49):
Taking second during the 9 o'clock hour, ABC's "Scandal" beat NBC's "The Blacklist" by 15% in Adults 18-49 (1.5/5 vs. 1.3/4) and Fox's "American Grit" by 114% (0.7/2). The ABC drama was the No. 1 series in the hour in Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49).

"The Catch" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 4.6 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
At 10:00 p.m., ABC's "The Catch" beat NBC's "Game of Silence" by 29% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.7/2) and is poised to win the hour in L+3. Live + 3 Day Ratings for Last Thursday (4/14/16): Last Thursday, ABC's "The Catch" was the biggest gainer at 10:00 p.m. on broadcast in both Total Viewers (+2.1 million viewers) and Adults 18-49 (+60%), posting much larger L+3 lifts than CBS' "Rush Hour" (+953k and +22%, respectively) and NBC's "Game of Silence" debut (+1.4 million and +38%, respectively). After 3 days of TV playback, "The Catch" shot up to a 1.6 Adult 18-49 rating, increasing its advantage over "Rush Hour" to 5-tenths of a rating point (1.1 rating) and over "Game of Silence" to 5-tenths (1.1 rating) versus a 1-tenth and 2-tenths lead, respectively, in L+SD.

Friday
ABC won Friday in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4) among the broadcasters for the 3rd week in a row. ABC's "20/20" and "Shark Tank" tied as Friday's No. 1 TV series with young adults.

"Last Man Standing" (8:00-8:31 p.m. - 5.9 million and 1.0/5 in AD18-49):
At 8:00 p.m., the season finale of "Last Man Standing" ranked No. 1 in its half-hour with Total Viewers (5.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.0/5-tie). In fact, "LMS" was the most watched TV show in its slot on nearly every original telecast this season (21 of 22 telecasts).

"Dr. Ken" (8:31-9:00 p.m. - 4.6 million and 0.9/4 in AD18-49):
At 8:30 p.m., the season finale of "Dr. Ken" ran a strong second in its slot in Adults 18-49 (0.9/4) among the broadcast nets, finishing in a virtual tie for No. 1 with the second half-hour of CBS' "Amazing Race" (1.0/4). Overall during its freshman season, "Dr. Ken" improved the half-hour for ABC by 17% in Adults 18-49 (1.4/6 vs. 1.2/4), delivering a 3-year high in the time period - since the 2012-13 season.

"Shark Tank" (9:00-10:01 p.m. - 5.4 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49):
Surging 33% over its lead-in at 9:00 p.m., ABC's "Shark Tank" was the No. 1 series in its hour among Adults 18-49 (1.2/5).

"20/20" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 5.7 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49):
At 10:00 p.m., ABC's "20/20" led its hour to rank as the night's No. 1 TV show in Adults 18-49 (1.2/5-tie) and Adults 25-54 (1.8/6). Head to head in the hour, "20/20" outdelivered NBC's "Dateline" by wide margins in Total Viewers (+43% - 5.7 million vs. 4.0 million), Adults 18-49 (+33% - 1.2/5 vs. 0.9/4) and Adults 25-54 (+38% - 1.8/6 vs. 1.3/4), drawing more viewers than the NBC newsmagazine for the 4th-straight week. "20/20" built week to week in Total Viewers (+14%), Adults 18-49 (+20%) and Adults 25-54 (+29%), setting 10-week highs in viewers and the key news demo and equaling a 2-month high in young adults - since 2/12/16 and 2/19/16, respectively. "20/20" reported on the incredible life and untimely death of music legend Prince.

Sunday
"America's Funniest Home Videos" (7:00-8:00 p.m. - 5.0 million and 1.2/5 in AD18-49):
At 7:00 p.m., ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" won its hour among Adults 18-49 and was up 33% from its most recent original two weeks ago (1.2/5 vs. 0.9/3) to deliver its best number since February - since 2/21/16.

"Once Upon a Time" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 3.8 million and 1.2/4 in AD18-49):
At 8:00 p.m., ABC's "Once Upon a Time" ranked the No. 1 series in Adults 18-49 (1.2/4-tie). The ABC drama held even at a 6-week high - since 3/13/16.

"The Family" (9:00-10:00 p.m. - 2.9 million and 0.8/2 in AD18-49):
Opposite HBO's premiere of "Game of Thrones" in the 9:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "The Family" held even with the prior week in Adults 18-49 (0.8/2) to tie its top rating on the night. Live + 3 Day Ratings for Last Sunday (4/17/16): "The Family" jumped +63% over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating to deliver a 1.3 rating after 3 days of TV playback, matching its highest L+3 rating on the night.

"Quantico" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.5 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):
Building over its lead-in at 10:00 p.m. (+25%), ABC's "Quantico" beat out its broadcast competition in the hour, leading its drama competition on CBS by 43% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.7/2 - "Elementary"). "Quantico" held even week to week in Adults 18-49. Live + 3 Day Ratings for Last Sunday (4/17/16): "Quantico" was once again Sunday's biggest broadcast gainer in L+3 playback among Adults 18-49 with an +80% SPIKE over its L+SD rating (growing from a 1.0 to a 1.8 in L+3).
