ABC Tuesday Prime (8:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.9 million and 1.1/4 in AD18-49): Boosted by the season premiere of "Bachelor in Paradise," ABC took second to an "AGT"-led NBC on Tuesday night in Adults 18-49 (1.1/4).
ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" was the night's No. 2 TV show to "America's Got Talent" in Adults 18-49 (tie) and beat the
NBC unscripted series to rank as Tuesday's No. 1 program in Women 18-34 (No. 1 in each half-hour from 8:00-10:00 p.m.).
"Bachelor in Paradise" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 4.6 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49): Opposite NBC's "America's Got Talent" from 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" ran a strong No. 2 among Adults 18-49 (1.4/5) and more than tripled Fox's season finale of "Coupled" (+250% - 0.4/2) in the 2-hour slot
Versus its year-ago 8:00-10:00 p.m. Sunday premiere (3.6 million and 1.1/4 on 8/2/15), "Bachelor in Paradise" was up year to year by 1.0 million viewers and by 27% in Adults 18-49, matching its highest-rated premiere yet with young adults.
Projections Rationale: Lifts vs. L+SD are based on 2015-16 season averages for originals (excluding the premiere). Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).
New Series: Based on similar series.
A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate Nielsen measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
