ABC's PAN AM Among Winners of 2012 Rose d'Or Festival

The Rose d'Or Festival presents Golden Rose Awards in 12 categories for the best and most creative TV formats from around the world. More than 400 programmes from 40 different countries were submitted this year to participate in this prestigious competition. Today the winners were announced at the Awards Ceremony in the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne. The nominated programmes were announced in Asia for the first time in February this year. The nominees Night was held on 28 February in Kuala Lumpur, with many representatives of the TV and media industries in attendance.

The 50-member jury selected a shortlist of the 3 best programmes in each of the 12 categories (Comedy, Sitcom, Game Show, Multiplatform, Children and Youth, Live Event Show, Arts Documentary and Performing Arts, TV Movie, Factual Entertainment, and Lifestyle Series) to compete for a Golden Rose.

The 10 Heads of Jury, who form the Final Jury determined this week in Lucerne the best in each category. The winners are:

Awards Night with Barbara Schöneberger

Tonight the celebrations continue at the glamorous Awards Gala at the KKL Lucerne. Barbara Schöneberg will host he show and will welcome many guest stars including Larry Hagman, Jeremy Clarkson, Isabel Lucas and Stefan Raab. The highlight of the Awards Night will be the presentation of the special Rose Awards in the following categories: Best of 2012, Honourary Rose, Innovation Rose, Music Rose and Lifetime Achievement. An additional release will follow at 9pm cet tonight. Today television professionals, producers, managers of private and public television stations and Production Company heads from about 40 countries participate annually. Since its inception, the Rose d’Or Festival has been an important networking platform and a marketplace for ideas. The highlight of the Rose d'Or Festival is the glittering Awards Night, in which the Golden Roses for best television entertainment programmes and formats are presented. With these coveted Awards the Rose d'Or Festival recognises originality, quality and creativity, and sets the standard for entertainment television.
