During the 2nd quarter of 2014, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live drew its biggest-ever audience for any quarter (2.672 million). Kimmel was the only late-night talk show at 11:35pm to grow its overall audience from the previous quarter (+1%), as NBC's The Tonight Show declined -31% and CBS' The Late Show was down -7%.
Kimmel was up over the 2nd quarter of last year by 7% in Total Viewers, growing over the year-ago 2Q for the 5th year in a row.
ABC's
Jimmy Kimmel Live finished the quarter as the 2nd-most-watched late-night talk show, behind only NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Beating CBS'
The Late Show with David Letterman for the 6th straight quarter among Adults 18-49, JKL beat the
CBS late-night program by its largest margin ever (+31%). In fact, JKL outperformed Letterman on 12 of the 13 weeks of the quarter in the key young adult demo. In addition, Kimmel topped Letterman in Total Viewers for the first quarter ever (+1%).
During the week of June 23, 2014, ABC's
Jimmy Kimmel Live was up over the prior week by 7% in Total Viewers and by 10% in Adults 18-49. In addition, Kimmel grew over the year-ago week in both Total Viewers (+8%) and Adults 18-49 (+4%).
Kimmel ranked as the week's #2 talk show in late-night on broadcast and cable among Total Viewers (2.458 million) and Adults 18-49 (796,000).
