With its late-night lineup of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" at 11:35 p.m. and "Nightline" at 12:35 a.m., ABC won the first full week of the May 2013 sweep (w/o 4/29/13). The Net grew over the prior week by 3% in Total Viewers (2.175 million vs. 2.120 million) and 3% in Adults 18-49 (721,000 vs. 698,000).
ABC (2.175 million) was the most-watched network in late-night for the 9th time in 17 weeks with its new lineup - beating the wins of
CBS (2.117 million) and
NBC (2.093 million) combined (CBS=5, NBC=3).
Taking the top spot in 14 of 17 weeks with its new lineup,
ABC stood as the No. 1 network in late-night once again in Adults 18-49 (721,000), leading
CBS by 15% (627,000) and
NBC by 3% (700,000).

During the week of April 29, 2013, ABC's "
Jimmy Kimmel Live" was up week to week in both Total Viewers (+3% - 2.471 million vs. 2.405 million) and Adults 18-49 (+2% - 820,000 vs. 802,000). "JKL" also grew over its performance on the same week last year by 30% in Total Viewers and by 17% in Adults 18-49 (1.907 million and 700,000 on w/o 4/30/12), growing year over year in each of the 17 weeks since its move to 11:35 p.m.
Despite airing a repeat telecast on Friday, ABC's "JKL" topped a week of all-original episodes of CBS' "The Late Show with
David Letterman" by 7% in Adults 18-49 (820,000 vs. 766,000), marking the
ABC program's 5th win in 6 weeks over "The Late Show."
Since the move to 11:35 p.m. (17 week average), ABC's "
Jimmy Kimmel Live" stands just 105,000 Adult 18-49 viewers from NBC's "The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno" (917,000 vs. 1.022 million). In fact, "JKL" has eliminated three-quarters of its young adult gap with "The Tonight Show" since the move to 11:35 p.m. (-75% - 105,000 vs. 419,000), as more than 400,000 Adult 18-49 viewers stood between the two late-night programs during the same 17 weeks last year.

David Letterman" by 60,000 Adult 18-49 viewers head to head at 11:35 p.m. (+7% - 917,000 vs. 857,000).
Among Adults 18-34, ABC's "JKL" (320,000) ties NBC's "Tonight Show" (321,000) as the No. 1 broadcast talk show in late-night, while leading CBS' "The Late Show" by 17% (274,000).
Seventeen weeks into its new 11:35 p.m. time slot, ABC's "
Jimmy Kimmel Live" is up over its performance through this point last year by 38% in Adults 18-49 (917,000 vs. 665,000) and by 41% in Adults 18-34 (320,000 vs. 227,000), standing as the only late-night broadcast talk show to improve year over year in both Nielsen measures.

ABC over the comparable 17 weeks in 2012 by 3% in Adults 18-49 (917,000 vs. 888,000) and by 14% in Adults 18-34 (320,000 vs. 280,000).

For the week of April 29, 2013,
ABC News' "Nightline" drew 1.558 million Total Viewers, 690,000 Adults 25-54 and 512,000 Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. For the 2nd straight week, "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show with
Craig Ferguson" across all key target demos - Total Viewers (+193,000), Adults 25-54 (+37,000) and Adults 18-49 (+51,000).
"Nightline" saw week-to-week increases in Total Viewers (+4%), Adults 25-54 (+11%) and Adults 18-49 (+8%) - 1.500 million, 622,000 and 472,000, respectively, on w/o 4/22/13. In fact, "Nightline" drew its 2nd-most-watched week in more than 3 months - since w/o 1/21/13, behind only the week of its coverage of the events in Boston (w/o 4/15/13).
On Thursday (5/2/13), "Nightline" (1.560 million and 730,000) ranked No. 1 in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "The Late Late Show" (1.539 million and 675,000) and NBC's "Late Night" (1.519 million and 676,000).
On average in its new time period, "Nightline" has improved ABC's performance compared to the same weeks last year in Total Viewers (+7%). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with
Craig Ferguson" by +113,000 Total Viewers and by +26,000 Adults 25-54.
