ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA is No. 1 for Fourth Quarter

ABC News' "Good Morning America" was the No. 1 morning program during the 4th Quarter 2013 in both Total Viewers (5.690 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.148 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. Leading in all 4 quarters of 2013, "GMA" has won the last 6 quarters in Total Viewers and the last 5 in Adults 25-54.

Winning all 14 weeks of 4Q14 in overall viewers and 13 of 14 weeks in the key adult news demo, "GMA" led the No. 2-ranked NBC's "Today Show" (4.975 million and 2.074 million, respectively) by 715,000 Total Viewers and by 74,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" outdelivered "Today" by its largest 4th quarter Total Viewer margin in more than 22 years - since before 4Q91; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

"GMA" posted increases over both the previous quarter (3Q13 - 5.222 million and 1.887 million, respectively) and the year-ago quarter (4Q12 - 5.078 million and 1.941 million, respectively) in both Total Viewers (+9%/+12%, respectively) and Adults 25-54 (+14%/+11%, respectively). "GMA" turned in its most-watched quarter in more than 22 years and strongest news demo performance in nearly 7 years - since before 4Q91 and 1Q07, respectively.

"GMA" nearly doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" during 4Q13 in Total Viewers (+87%), while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+108%). "GMA" marked its largest Total Viewer quarter lead (2.646 million) over the CBS program in more than 8 years and biggest Adults 25-54 advantage (1.114 million) in more than 7 years - since before 2Q05 and 2Q06, respectively.

ABC News' "Good Morning America" finished as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers (4.893 million), Adults 25-54 (1.778 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.097 million) for the week of December 23, 2013, according to Nielsen Media Research. Taking the top spot in overall viewers in all 14 weeks this season, "GMA" outdelivered NBC's "Today" (4.037 million, 1.407 million and 1.096, respectively) during the week by 856,000 Total Viewers; 371,000 Adults 25-54 and 1,000 Adults 18-49.

"GMA" led "Today" by its largest news demo margin in more than 19 years - since w/o 5/19/94. Further, "GMA" widened its leads over the No. 2-ranked "Today Show" from its year-ago leads (579,000 and 89,000, respectively, on w/o 12/24/12) by 48% in Total Viewers and by 371% in Adults 25-54.

"GMA" has ranked No. 1 every week in Total Viewers for more than 17 months (the last 71 weeks - since w/o 8/13/12). "GMA's" 71 consecutive weeks at the top represents its longest stretch at No. 1 in more than 22 years - since before the 1991-92 season; Nielsen's electronic database started in September 1991.

In addition, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 In Adults 25-54 in 13 of the 14 weeks of the season.

For the 8th consecutive week, "GMA" was up year to year in Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 25-54 (+10%) - 4.645 million and 1.611 million, respectively, on w/o 12/24/12. In fact, "GMA" stood as the only morning newscast to grow on the year-ago week in both measures as "CBS This Morning" was mixed (+2%/-13%), while NBC's "Today" was down (-1%/-8%).

Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning news program for the 2nd straight year in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. "GMA" is leading NBC's "Today" by 715,000 Total Viewers and 74,000 Adults 25-54. In fact, "GMA" has widened its Total Viewer season lead over "Today" versus the same point last season by 37% (715,000 vs. 521,000) to post its largest season margin in more than 22 years - since at least the 1991-92 season; Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991.

Growing for the 3rd year in a row, "GMA" is up over the same point last season in both Total Viewers (+12%) and Adults 25-54 (+11%). In fact, "GMA" is seeing its largest overall season audience in more than 22 years and best Adults 25-54 performance in 8 years - since before the 1991-92 season and the 2005-06 seasons, respectively.

During the week, "GMA" nearly doubled the performance of "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+88%) and Adults 18-49 (+96%), while more than doubling in Adults 25-54 (+114%).
