ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 during premiere week in Total Viewers (4.714 million) for the week of September 21, 2015, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" beat "Today" (4.268 million) by 446,000 Total Viewers to win the opening week of the season for the 4th year in a row. In addition, "GMA" increased its overall viewer lead week-to-week over "Today" by +45% (vs. 308,000 for w/o 9/14/15).
Year to date, "GMA" has ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers in all 39 weeks of the year and 28 of 39 weeks in Adults 25-54.
During the week, "GMA" outperformed "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+43%/ +1.419 million), Adults 25-54 (+61%/+581,000) and Adults 18-49 (+51%/+361,000).
*Note: Due to the Papal visit, ABC's "GMA" and NBC's "Today" was broken out on Thursday (9/24/15). Each telecast was excluded from the weekly averages. In addition, "GMA" had breakout portions on Friday (9/25/15), "Today" on Wednesday (9/23/15) and Friday (9/25/15), and "CBS This Morning" on Wednesday (9/23/15) and Thursday (9/24/15).
