ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (4.262 million) for the week of July 4, 2016, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" led NBC's "Today" (4.055 million) by 207,000.
"GMA" improved from the previous week (w/o 6/27/16) in Adults 25-54 (+1% - 1.398 million vs. 1.382 million) and Adults 18-49 (+5% - 1.022 million vs. 977,000). In fact, "GMA" stood as the only morning newscast to grow week to week in the key adult demos as both "CBS This Morning" (-3%/-3%) and "Today" (-3%/-1%) turned in losses.
Season to date, "GMA" stands as the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers, beating "Today" by 230,000 (4.875 million vs. 4.645 million), taking the top spot at this point of the season for the 4th consecutive year.
During the week, "GMA" beat "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+27%/+916,000), Adults 25-54 (+48%/+454,000) and Adults 18-49 (+53%/+356,000).
*Note: Due to the July 4th holiday, all three programs were coded as specials on Monday (7/4/16) and each telecast was excluded from the averages. The weekly averages for all three programs are based on 4 days (Tues-Fri).
