ABC News' "Good Morning America" ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (6.021 million), Adults 25-54 (2.246 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.643 million) during the week of November 17, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. Growing over the previous week (5.718 million, 2.131 million and 1.539 million on w/o 11/10/14) in Total Viewers (+5%), Adults 25-54 (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+7%), "GMA" reached new season highs for the 2nd straight week, with its best numbers since March - since weeks of 3/3/14, 3/31/14 and 3/31/14, respectively.
"GMA" beat the No. 2-ranked "Today" (5.305 million, 2.018 million and 1.576 million, respectively) by 716,000 Total Viewers, by 228,000 Adults 25-54 and by 67,000 Adults 18-49. The
ABC morning newscast increased its year-to-year leads over the
NBC program by 8% in Total Viewers (716,000 vs. 662,000), while more than doubling its lead in Adults 25-54 (+162% - 228,000 vs. 87,000). In addition, "GMA" led "Today" by its largest Total Viewer advantage in 5 weeks and biggest in Adults 18-49 in 7 weeks - since weeks of 10/13/14 and 9/29/14, respectively.
"GMA" saw year-to-year gains (5.919 million and 1.613 million on w/o 11/18/13) in Total Viewers (+2%) and Adults 18-49 (+2%).
On Friday (11/21/14), "GMA" delivered the best single-day telecast for any morning newscast this season in Total Viewers (6.249 million), Adults 25-54 (2.385 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.721 million).
Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning newscast in all key demos: Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49. "GMA" is leading NBC's "Today" by 753,000 Total Viewers, by 211,000 Adults 25-54 and by 38,000 Adults 18-49. In addition, "GMA" has nearly tripled its season margin over "Today" versus the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+197% - 211,000 vs. 71,000), and is now leading "Today" in Adults 18-49 this season.
Furthermore, ranking No. 1 for the 3rd straight season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, "GMA" is seeing its largest season margin over "Today" in Adults 25-54 in more than 23 years - since at least the 1991-92 season (Nielsen's electronic database started on September of 1991).
During the week, "GMA" beat "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+75%), Adults 25-54 (+107%) and Adults 18-49 (+115%). Further, "GMA" outperformed the
CBS program by its largest margins of the season in all key target demos: Total Viewers (+2.584 million), Adults 25-54 (+1.162 million) and Adults 18-49 (+880,000)
