ABC News' "Good Morning America" won the week in Total Viewers (5.452 million) and Adults 25-54 (2.066 million) during the week of December 15, 2014, based on Live +Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. "GMA" has ranked as the top morning newscast in both measures in all 13 weeks of the season.
"GMA" beat the No. 2-ranked "Today" (5.124 million and 1.991 million, respectively) by 328,000 Total Viewers and by 75,000 Adults 25-54. "GMA" widened its lead over "Today" week to week in Adults 25-54 (+39% - 75,000 vs. 54,000).
Season to date, "GMA" is the No. 1 morning newscast in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54. "GMA" is leading NBC's "Today" by 664,000 Total Viewers and by 173,000 Adults 25-54. In addition, "GMA" has nearly tripled its season margin over "Today" versus the same point last season in Adults 25-54 (+193% - 173,000 vs. 59,000).
Furthermore, ranking No. 1 for the 3rd straight season in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54, "GMA" is seeing its largest season margin over "Today" in Adults 25-54 in 23 years - since the 1991-92 season.
During the week, "GMA" outperformed "CBS This Morning" in Total Viewers (+68%), Adults 25-54(+110%) and Adults 18-49 (+120%).
