ABC's EXTREME WEIGHT LOSS Grows by 11% in Key Demo

"Extreme Weight Loss" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 3.5 million and 1.0/4 in AD18-49): From 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "Extreme Weight Loss" gained week to week in Total Viewers (+3% - 3.5 million vs. 3.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (+11% - 1.0/4 vs. 0.9/3), tying a 5-week high with young adults - since 6/3/14. In addition, the show spiked 40% from the prior week in Adults 18-34. "Extreme Weight Loss" grew its overall audience from the same night last year (+3%).

"Celebrity Wife Swap" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.2 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "Celebrity Wife Swap" held steady week to week in Total Viewers (3.2 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.0/3), while building across all key Women demos: +14% in W18-34, +8% in W18-49 and +6% in W25-54.

A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating comparisons based on the Live + Same Day data stream are distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped up to 49% currently, from 47% at the same point in 2013. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
