ABC Monday Prime (8:00-11:00 p.m. - 9.0 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49): Growing week to week (+6%/+8%), ABC was the most watched network on Monday (9.0 million) and took second in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5) to NBC. ABC's "Dancing" finished as Monday's most watched TV series for the 3rd week running, topping NBC's "The Voice" on the night by best-of-season 1.2 million viewers (11.3 million vs. 10.1 million). "DWTS" was the No. 2 TV series of the night in Adults 18-49.
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., the semi-finals of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" grew for the 2nd consecutive week in Total Viewers (+5% - 11.3 million vs. 10.8 million) and held even with Adults 18-49 (1.6/5), drawing its biggest audience since its season premiere 9 weeks ago on 9/12/16.
At 10:00 p.m., ABC's freshman "Conviction" surged week to week by 19% in Total Viewers (4.3 million vs. 3.6 million) and by 33% in Adults 18-49 (0.8/3 vs. 0.6/2).
Last Week's "Conviction" Jumps by a Best-Ever +83% in L+3 Adults 18-49:
In Live + 3 Day, last Monday's telecast (on 11/7/16) of "Conviction" shot up by a best-yet +83% in Adults 18-49 over its L+SD rating (0.6 rating to 1.1 rating), qualifying as the biggest broadcast gainer on Monday night.
Projections Rationale: Lifts vs. L+SD are based on the 2015-16 season for premiere telecast or an average for originals (excluding the premiere).
Returning shows: Profile based on same show (either premiere or averages for originals).
New Series: Based on similar series.
A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
