Facing stiff competition from NBC's NFL coverage and CBS' "Big Brother" at 8:00 p.m., ABC's "Bachelor in Paradise" built for the 4th consecutive Sunday in Total Viewers (+5% - 4.4 million vs. 4.2 million) and remained steady in Adults 18-49 (1.3/4) to earn its most-watched-yet Sunday telecast and equal its highest young adult number on the night. The ABC unscripted series was No. 1 in its 2-hour slot against its broadcast competition for the 3rd week in a row across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54)
"Bachelor in Paradise" continued to greatly improve its 2-hour slot year to year for ABC, more than doubling the Adult 18-49 delivery from the year-ago night with original programming (+117% - "Wipeout" = 0.6/2 from 8:00-9:00 p.m. on 8/31/14).
"Save My Life: Boston Trauma" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.1 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):
In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Save My Life: Boston Trauma" took second in the hour and held even with its most recent telecast two weeks ago among Adults 18-49 (0.7/2) and Adults 25-54 (0.9/3).
A note about DVR penetration: DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample is currently at 49% in U.S. TV Homes. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which are increasingly not reflected in the overnight Live + Same Day numbers. As a result, the Live + 7 Day ratings are the most accurate measure to gauge the size of the TV audience.
