'Deception' Is No. 1 at 10 p.m. Over NBC's 'Timeless' and CBS' 'Madam Secretary'

On a busy Sunday of debuts/premieres as well as CBS' NCAA BASKETBALL Tournament coverage running well into the first hour of primetime, ABC ranked No. 1 on the night in Adults 18-49 (1.3/5 tied w/CBS).
"American Idol" (8:00-10:00 p.m. - 7.7 million and 1.8/6 in AD18-49):
Building sharply on its lead-in at 8:00 p.m. and gaining audience from its first to second hour, ABC's "American Idol" beat out the series debuts of CBS' "Instinct" and NBC's "Genius Junior" to rank No. 1 from 8:00-10:00 p.m. in Adults 18-49 (1.8/6).
"Deception" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 4.2 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):
In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Deception" finished No. 1 in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3), beating NBC's "Timeless" by 29% (0.7/3) and CBS' "Madam Secretary" by 50%(0.6/3). "Deception" improved its hour by wide margins for ABC from the same night last year with "American Crime" in Total Viewers (+121% - 4.2 million vs. 1.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (+125% - 0.9/3 vs. 0.4/2).
