ABC Wins Sunday With IDOL as the Top Show and DECEPTION As No. 1 at 10 p.m.  Image

ABC Sunday Prime Time (7:00-11:00 p.m. - 6.2 million and 1.3/5 in AD18-49):
Featuring a second live "American Idol" broadcast across the country, ABC won Sunday night by wide margins in Adults 18-49 (1.3/5), beating CBS and FOX by 86% each (0.7/3-tied) and more than doubling NBC with a 160% advantage (0.5/2). ABC's "American Idol" was Sunday's dominant No. 1 TV series with Adults 18-49 (1.8 rating), standing as the night's top broadcast entertainment series in all 9 of its telecasts this spring.

  • ABC's Sunday prime-time performance improved over the year-ago night with an all-original schedule, including a Princess Diana special, by 19% in Total Viewers (6.2 million 5.2 million) and by a sharp 44% in Adults 18-49 (1.3/5 vs. 0.9/4). In fact, fueled by "Idol's" growth on the night, ABC isnow up for the 2017-2018 season on Sunday evening by 18% in Total Viewers and by 7% in Adults 18-49.

"American Idol" FAST NATIONALS (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 8.6 million and 1.8 rating in AD18-49):
From 8:00-10:00 p.m., ABC's "American Idol" won its 2-hour slot with Total Viewers (8.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.8 rating). The ABC unscripted series held steady with last week's best-since-premiere numbers (8.7 million and 1.9 rating).

  • Expanding its 2-hour time slot year-to-year on each of its Sunday telecasts, "American Idol" is more than doubling ABC's Sunday 8:00-10:00 p.m. time-period results over the same weeks last year in Total Viewers (+158%) and Adults 18-49 (+110%), producing the Net's best delivery in the 2-hour slot in 4 years among viewers and in 3 years among young adults - since the comparable weeks of 2014 and 2015, respectively. On averageseason to date, the broad-appealing ABC unscripted series ranks No. 1 in its 2-hour slot with Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, across all key Women(W18-34/W18-49/W25-54) and Teens 12-17.

"Deception" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.4 million and 0.7/3 in AD18-49):
In the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's "Deception" ranked as the No. 1 series in its hour for the 2nd week in a row with Adults 18-49 (0.7/3), topping CBS' "Madam Secretary" by 40% (0.5/2) and NBC's "Timeless" by 40% (0.5/2).
