ABC Ratings Grow Week-to-Week as of June 22

ABC Adult 18-49 Weekly Ratings Projections (w/o 6/22/15)

ABC's weekly Live + Same Day Adult 18-49 average is projected to increase 30% to a 1.3 rating in Live + 3 Day and build 38% to a 1.4 rating in Live + 7 Day.

Week No. 40 (Live + Same Day)

During the week of June 22, 2015, ABC finished a close second in Adults 18-49 (1.0/4) and ranked No. 1 with Adults 18-34 (0.7/3-tie).

Rankings: ABC aired 7 of the Top 20 broadcast shows in Adults 18-49, placing 3 in the Top 10: "The Bachelorette" - No. 4, "Celebrity Family Feud" - No. 6, "BattleBots" - No. 10, "What Would You Do?" and "20/20" tied at No. 17, while "The Whispers" and "Modern Family" tied at No. 20. In addition, "Celebrity Family Feud" (No. 3) and "The Bachelorette" (No. 8) ranked among the Top 10 most-watched TV shows overall.

Monday

ABC ranked No. 1 on Monday in Total Viewers (5.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.6/6-tie). ABC's "The Bachelorette" was Monday's No. 1 TV show in Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 (top series of the night for 6th week running).

"The Bachelorette" (8:00-10:01 p.m. - 6.6 million and 2.0/7 in AD18-49):

From 8:00-10:00 p.m. in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, ABC's "The Bachelorette" (6.6 million and 2.0/7) won its 2-hour time slot over NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" for the first time this season (6.0 million and 1.8/7) and beat Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" (3.3 million and 0.9/3) by its biggest margins yet (+100%/+122%).

"The Bachelorette" was up week to week in Total Viewers (+5%) and Adults 18-49 (+11%), hitting a best-since premiere number with young adults - since 5/18/15. In addition, "The Bachelorette" was up from its year-ago telecast for the 4th week in a row in Adults 18-49 (+33% - 2.0/7 vs. 1.5/5 on 6/23/14).

"The Whispers" (10:01-11:00 p.m. - 3.9 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49):

During the 10:00 p.m. hour, ABC's "The Whispers" was up 11% week to week in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3) and was steady with the year-ago performance of "Mistresses" in the hour (1.0/3 on 6/23/14). Consistently a big gainer in TV playback, "The Whispers" is projected to win its hour in Live + 3 Day and Live + 7 Day Adult 18-49 ratings.

On average in the Live + 3 Day data, "The Whispers" shoots up 64% over its L+SD Adult 18-49 rating. The new ABC drama also adds another 2.0 million Total Viewers (+43%) after 3 days of TV playback, drawing an average audience of 6.6 million viewers in L3.

Tuesday

"Extreme Weight Loss" (9:00-11:00 p.m. - 2.3 million and 0.7/2 in AD18-49):

ABC's "Extreme Weight Loss" grew week to week by 25% in Adults 18-34 (0.5/2 vs. 0.4/2) to match a season high.

Wednesday

"Celebrity Wife Swap" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.2 million and 0.9/3 in AD18-49):

ABC's Celebrity Wife Swap grew over the prior week by 13% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/3 vs. 0.8/3) and was up 13% from the year-ago night with original programming ("Motive" on 06/25/14).

Thursday

"The Astronaut Wives Club" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 4.5 million and 0.8/3 in AD18-49):

At 8:00 p.m., "The Astronaut Wives Club" improved its hour year to year for the 2nd week in a row, up by double digits in Total Viewers (+18% - 4.5 million vs. 3.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (+33% - 0.8/3 vs. 0.6/2) from the year-ago night with an original drama ("Black Box" on 06/26/14). The new ABC drama retained a strong 90% of its week-ago debut with Women 18-34.

"Mistresses" (9:00-10:00 pm - 3.3 million and 0.7/3 in AD18-49):

Shifting back into a 1-hour telecast from 9:00-10:00 p.m., after last week's 2-hour premiere, ABC's "Mistresses" beat NBC's just-renewed "Aquarius" by 17% in Adults 18-49 (0.7/3 vs. 0.6/2). "Mistresses held 100% of its week-earlier season premiere delivery with Adults 18-34 and Women 18-49.

TV Playback: During last summer, "Mistresses" posted strong increases via TV playback, spiking 60% from its initially-reported Live + Same Day number to its final Live +7 Day Adult 18-49 rating (1.0 rating to a 1.6 rating). And in the Live + 3 Day ratings for its week-ago season premiere, the show jumped 44% in Adults 18-49 over its L+SD number (0.9 rating to 1.4 rating), making it the biggest gainer for any broadcast show last Thursday.

"Rookie Blue" (10:00-11:00 p.m. - 3.8 million and 0.6/2 in AD18-49):

At 10:00 p.m., ABC's season premiere of "Rookie Blue" took second in its time slot to CBS' "Under the Dome" premiere in Total Viewers, building 15% on its lead-in (3.8 million vs. 3.3 million) and gaining audience from its first half-hour to its second-half hour.

Friday

ABC claimed Friday's No. 1 series in Adults 18-49 ("What Would You Do?" and "20/20" tied with NBC's "Dateline" = 1.1/4) and Adults 25-54 ("20/20" tied with "Dateline" = 1.5/5).

At 9:00 p.m., "What Would You Do?" was up week to week by 10% among Adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 1.0/4).

Sunday

Driven by "Celebrity Family Feud" and "BattleBots," ABC was the top broadcaster on Sunday night by 33% in Adults 18-49 over runner-up CBS (1.2/4 vs. 0.9/3). ABC's "Celebrity Family Feud" ranked as Sunday's No. 1 TV series for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (8.3 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.9/7).

"Celebrity Family Feud" (8:00-9:00 p.m. - 8.3 million and 1.9/7 in AD18-49):

Spiking over a repeat of the prior week's episode at 8:00 p.m. (+89%/+111%), ABC's "Celebrity Family Feud" beat CBS' Sunday premiere of "Big Brother 17" head to head in the hour with Total Viewers (8.3 million vs. 5.6 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.9/7 vs. 1.8/7). The ABC program built from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.

"Celebrity Family Feud" grew its time period from the year-ago night ("Wipeout" on 6/29/14 = 4.3 million and 1.2/4) by 93% in Total Viewers and by 58% in Adults 18-49.

"BattleBots" (9:00-10:01 p.m. - 4.8 million and 1.4/5 in AD18-49):

At 9:00 p.m., ABC's "BattleBots" dominated hour over its regular time-slot competition for the 2nd week in a row in Total Viewers (4.8 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.4/5). The new ABC show gained Adults 18-49 (+7%) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour. "BattleBots" was Sunday's No. 2 broadcast show with Men 18-49, behind only "Celebrity Family Feud."

Continuing to improve its hour for ABC, "BattleBots" boosted its time period year to year by 17% in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5 vs. 1.2/4 for "Rising Star" on 6/29/14).
