ABC News' This Week with George Stephanopoulos Ranks No. 1

On April 20, 2014, ABC News' "This Week with George Stephanopoulos" ranked No. 1 in both Total Viewers (2.616 million) and Adults 25-54 (776,000), according to Nielsen Media Research. "This Week" led CBS' "Face the Nation" by 25,000 Total Viewers and by 55,000 Adults 25-54, while beating NBC's "Meet the Press" by 428,000 Total Viewers and by 109,000 Adults 25-54.

"This Week" was up week to week in both Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 25-54 (+22%) - 2.292 million and 638,000, respectively, on 4/13/14. In addition, stood as the only public affairs program to build on its week-earlier performance compared to CBS' "Face the Nation" (-14%/-19%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-2%-1%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-9%/-12%).

"This Week" posted double-digit increases versus its year-ago Easter telecast by +12% in Total Viewers and +1% in Adults 25-54 - 2.342 million and 770,000, respectively on 3/31/13. Additionally, "This Week" was the only program to grow from last year's Easter telecast compared the CBS' "Face the Nation" (-11%/-17%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-16%/-21%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (-2%/-35%).

Season to date, "This Week" is up by double-digits in Total Viewers (+13%) and Adults 25-54 (+11%) versus its year-ago season averages. Growing in both measures for the 2nd year in a row, "This Week" is delivering its strongest performance in 5 years - since the 2008-09 season. In addition, "This Week" is up the most from the same point last season in both Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 versus CBS' "Face the Nation" (+2%/+4%), NBC's "Meet the Press" (-6%/-8%) and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" (+3%/-9%).

In addition, "This Week" leads NBC's "Meet the Press" this season in both Total Viewers (+74,000) and Adults 25-54 (+25,000), beating the NBC program during a season for the first time in 17 years in overall viewers and in 20 years in the key adult news demo - since the 1996-97 and the 1993-94 seasons, respectively.

NOTE: Easter Sunday - "This Week" retained the regular title, while both CBS' "Face the Nation," NBC's "Meet the Press" and Fox's "Fox News Sunday" were coded Special.
