ABC Family's 'Pop Up Santa' Initiative Returns for Second Year

ABC Family surprised America during the 2014 holiday season with Pop Up Santa's unexpected gifts and appearances. This year, the network brings back the fun and goodwill to celebrate "25 Days of Christmas," with all-new heartwarming events and sponsors.

ABC Family is becoming Freeform in January 2016!. Beloved yearly programming events like "25 Days of Christmas" will remain on the network under the Freeform banner.

This season, ABC Family's Pop Up Santa has partnered with Reddi-wip, traveling coast-to-coast with the "Share The Joy" Food Truck. The initiative kicked off with a sweet surprise in New York City on Saturday, November 14th when the Reddi-wip "Share The Joy" Food Truck rolled up to Wollman Rink in Central Park with free hot cocoa and Reddi-wip topped holiday treats. Next, the truck will bring sweet treats to Angelenos at the Americana at Brand mall in Glendale on Thursday, November 19th. ABC Family's Pop Up Santa and Reddi-wip will surprise shoppers during the Americana at Brand's 8th Annual Tree Lighting Spectacular with a special Pop Up performance hosted by ABC Family talent. The "Share The Joy" Food Truck will make its final stop to help Chicagoans get Reddi for Santa on Saturday, November 21st at the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival.

In keeping with the Pop Up Santa tradition of fun secrets and surprises, other holiday treats will include special moments for fans and two very special surprises in conjunction with "Good Morning America." Network talent will also pay a special visit to Children's Hospital Los Angeles to share some joy with staff and patients recovering from traumatic injury or life-threatening illness in the hospital's renowned Margie and Robert E. Petersen Foundation Rehabilitation Center.

As a soundtrack to the season, Atlantic Records multi-platinum singer, songwriter and actress, JoJo has lent her voice to a Pop Up Santa original song, debuting during "25 Days of Christmas." UCLA's signature a cappella group, the ScatterTones, accompany JoJo's powerhouse vocals to create a one-of-a-kind musical experience. Fans can get an inside look at all of the holiday fun and excitement by staying tuned to ABC Family during "25 Days of Christmas."

Now in its 18th year, "25 Days of Christmas" is the biggest seasonal programming event on cable and the network's highest-rated period of the year, reaching nearly 100 million people in 2014. During the annual event, ABC Family airs 25 continuous days of holiday-themed entertainment for the whole family, adding up to over 300 hours of programming. The event includes traditional holiday film favorites, specials and holiday-themed episodes of ABC Family original series. "25 Days of Christmas" kicks off December 1st on ABC Family and runs through December 25th.

Part of the Disney|ABC Television Group, ABC Family (to be renamed Freeform in January 2016) is distributed in 94 million homes. The network entertains and connects to audiences with bold, relatable programming. The programming is a combination of network-defining original series and original movies, quality acquired series and blockbuster theatricals. "WATCH ABC Family" (also to be renamed Freeform in January 2016) is an authenticated service which allows viewers with participating TV subscription services access to 24/7 live viewing of the network, as well as continued on-demand access to such popular series at home and on-the-go via a wide array of devices.
