ABC Family's 17th Annual '25 Days of Christmas' Drives Network to #1

Powered by the network's 17th annual "25 Days of Christmas" programming event, ABC Family ranked as the #1 cable TV network in Prime in Adults 18-34 (700,000/1.0 rating), Women 18-34 (479,000/1.4 rating), Women 18-49 (804,000/1.3 rating), Viewers 12-34 (979,000/1.1 rating) and Females 12-34 (651,000/1.4 rating) and placed a solid #2 in Total Viewers (2.51 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.22 million/1.0 rating), behind only ESPN (2.84 million), giving the The Walt Disney Company the week's Top 2 cable TV networks.

Impressively, this week stood as the network's most watched week of all time in Prime in Adults 18-34 and Women 18-34 and its #2 week of all time in Women 18-49, Viewers 12-34 and Females 12-34.

"25 Days of Christmas 2014" is off to the extravaganza's 2nd best start in its storied 17 year history in Women 18-34 (472,000/1.4 rating) and its 3rd strongest start in Adults 18-34 (700,000/1.0 rating), Women 18-49 (799,000/1.2 rating), Viewers 12-34 (984,000/1.1 rating) and Females 12-34 (651,000/1.4 rating).

Compared to the first 7 nights in 2013, "25 Days of Christmas 2014" is up across the board, including by 8% in Adults 18-34 (700,000 vs. 648,000), by 6% in Adults 18-49 (1.23 million vs. 1.16 million) and by 11% in Viewers 12-34 (984,000 vs. 887,000).

Led by "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and two airings of "Elf," ABC Family aired the week's Top 12 movies across all cable in Adults 18-34, the Top 10 in Adults 18-49 and Top 11 in Viewers 12-34 (Top 5 below):

"25 Days of Christmas" Social Media Highlights:

Based on unique authors, ABC Family was the week's most-social general-entertainment cable network with 217,523, +42% ahead of #2-ranked FX (vs. 153,000). The network's most-social programs for the week were: "Elf" (114,000 tweets), "The Polar Express" (63,000) and "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (43,000). In fact, more people tweeted about "Elf" than any other non-sports cable program for the week, including FX's "Sons of Anarchy" (77,000) and "American Horror Story" (51,000).

On Facebook, the event's programming guide has grown to 456,000 shares, becoming ABC Family's most shared post on record. Furthermore, the "25 Days of Christmas" Facebook page has reached over 28 million unique people.
