ABC Family is taking the noncommittal route when it comes to renewing The Lying Game and BUNHEADS.

Deadline reports that six months after wrapping production, the cable network is hesitant to give LYING an outright pick-up, even as the cast's contracts officially end this week. The network is reportedly holding off on making a decision until this summer, to see how its new lineup of programming fares, before ordering an additional season.

The producer, Warner Horizon, is attempting to work out a deal to extend the cast's option - but all of the actors reportedly passed on the first proposal.

Bunheads is essentially in the same boat. The ballet dramedy, starring Broadway's Sutton Foster, has consistently pulled close to the same ratings as THE LYING GAME, drawing in around 1.7 million total viewers, according to Deadline. Their performances have been on par, but not nearly high enough to warrant the network to prefer them over its new series, THE FOSTERS and TWISTED.

Bunheads wrapped its first season on February 25.
