Deadline.com reports that ABC Family's MAKE IT OR BREAK will not return to the programming schedule once the series completes its current third season.
While the series drew poor ratings after its second season, ABC Family hoped to capitalize on the growing excitement of the upcoming London Summer Olympic Games. As a result, the network decided to renew the series for a third season, ordering an 8-episode run.
The current season of the show has followed three gymnasts on the final leg of the race to the Olympics. The upcoming finale, airing May 14, will reveal which of the three contenders will make it to the fictional U.S. gymnastics team. MAKE IT OR BREAK IT creator Holly Sorenson hinted at the show's demise tweeting, “We are, very sadly, three weeks away from the series finale of MIOBI,” on Monday.
ABC Family has three new series which will make their debuts this summer, the drama Bunheads, the comedy Baby Daddy and the docuseries Beverly Hills Nannies.
