ABC Drama Pilot FALSE PROFITS Welcomes Vanessa Williams

According to Variety, Vanessa Williams has joined the cast of the upcoming ABC pilot FALSE PILOTS. The new drama welcomes Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim, The Trip to Bountiful, Ugly Betty) as a season regular. The cast also includes Bellamy Young, Kosha Patel, Kapil Talwalkar, and Shelley Hennig. FALSE PROFITS is based on a group of women working in the cutthroat of marketing cosmetics in Phoenix, Arizona.The show is written and executive produced by Kayla Alpert. Also producing is Jason T. Reed Productions and ABC Studios. Paul McGuigan is set to direct.

Williams is a Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award-nominated singer and actress. She is known for her roles on other ABC hits like DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and UGLY BETTY. In addition to those roles, she is also known for her work on TEMPTATION: CONFESSIONS OF A MARRIAGE COUNSELOR, ALLY MCBEAL, 666 PARK AVENUE, and SOUL FOOD. Williams is no stranger to the stage either. She was most recently seen in Encores anthology HEY, LOOK ME OVER.
