ABC Announces News Coverage Honoring Nelson Mandela

As Americans reflect on the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela, ABC News will have extensive coverage across all broadcasts and platforms. The former South African President passed away at the age of 95.

Diane Sawyer will lead the network's special coverage from ABC News Headquarters in New York. ABC News Chief National Correspondent Byron Pitts, ABC News Chief Foreign Correspondent Terry Moran and Correspondent Alex Marquardt will report from South Africa for all broadcasts and platforms in the coming days.

ABC News broadcasts including "Good Morning America," "ABC World News," "Nightline," "20/20" and "This Week" will provide comprehensive coverage of the events honoring the former South African President.

"World News with Diane Sawyer" will have complete coverage of Nelson Mandela's life and legacy airing tonight at 6:30 p.m., ET. "World News" will also feature George Stephanopoulos's interview with former President Bill Clinton as he reflects on Nelson Mandela's impact around the world.

"20/20" celebrates the life of Nelson Mandela in a Special Edition of "20/20": "NELSON MANDELA: A MAN WHO CHANGED THE WORLD," airing tonight at 10:01 p.m., ET. Anchored by David Muir and Robin Roberts, The Hour will feature Alex Marquardt reporting from South Africa, details of Mandela's passing, world-wide reaction, plans for his funeral, and images of the day, as well as chronicle the long, eventful and polarizing political and personal life of one of the 20th century's greatest figures.

A special edition of "Nightline" will air tonight at 12:35 a.m., ET. The program will also feature reports by ABC News Correspondent John Donvan.
